Honda Odyssey background information
Honda Odyssey – front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive minivan (MPV according to Japanese classification) with 3 rows of seats with 6-7 seats. Manufactured by Honda. The second generation is produced in two different versions for the North American and Asian markets.
It appeared in 1995 as a result of Honda’s attempt to take a place in the booming minivan market at that time. When creating the first generation Odyssey, the Honda Accord car (engine, transmission, suspension elements) was taken as a basis, and was produced at its production facilities. Although the company itself claims that Odyssey was designed from scratch. The model was developed mainly for the requirements of the North American market, had a relatively large dimensions and was fashionable at the time of the gearbox control on the steering wheel.
Distinctive features – it is completed exclusively with automatic transmissions, has a sharp steering, a low center of mass and an energy-intensive suspension.
