Dodge Journey background information
The Dodge Journey is a 7-seater Dodge crossover that has been on the market since 2008.
The first generation (2008-2020)
Dodge Journey has been manufactured since 2008 in Toluca, Mexico. The car replaced the short-wheelbase version of the Dodge Caravan and is built on the front-wheel drive platform Chrysler JC49. In some markets, the model is sold under the name Fiat Freemont.
The front-wheel drive version of the Journey is equipped with a 2.0-liter CRD EA188 turbocharged diesel engine with 140 hp. production of Volkswagen, or own petrol dvmgunami 2,4 l VVT with a capacity of 170 hp, or 2.7 Chrysler SOHC V6 with a capacity of 183 hp or 3.5 liters Chrysler SOHC V6 235 hp The all-wheel drive version was equipped only with a 3.5-liter Chrysler SOHC V6 engine.
In 2011, the model was upgraded. The updated Dodge Journey received a completely new suspension, a new 6-cylinder 283-horsepower 3.6 Pentastar engine, which is 48 hp. more powerful and at the same time more economical than the previous power unit, as well as the new interior, finished with soft to the touch, high quality materials and improved interior design. The basic equipment of Dodge Journey includes the ESC dynamic stabilization system and the anti-slip system working at all speeds which helps to keep a crossover on the set trajectory in various road and weather conditions, the anti-blocking brake system and system of prevention of overturning. Exterior changes include LED taillights and dual chrome exhaust nozzles and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
Second generation (from 2021)
The official premiere of the second generation Dodge Journey took place on October 4, 2021 during a virtual presentation, with the crossover first announced in early September, and at the end of the same month began mass production at a plant in China (especially for Mexico). The car is the result of badge engineering of the Chinese SUV GAC GS5.
