Chrysler Sebring background information
Chrysler Sebring is a medium-sized car manufactured by the American company Chrysler in 1995-2010. This model has three generations of convertibles, two generations of sedans and two generations of coupes. Despite the fact that the design of the coupe had the same distinctive features of the Sebring model, the mechanics of the car had nothing to do with it.
The Sebring line was launched in 1995 as the Chrysler Sebring coupe, thus replacing the Chrysler LeBaron coupe. Also in 1996, a convertible was introduced instead of its counterpart from the LeBaron line. In 2001, both body types were restyled and a sedan version was introduced to replace the Chrysler Cirrus and Plymouth Breeze. Production of the coupe has been discontinued since 2005.
A new version of the sedan was introduced in 2007 and the convertible in 2008. This generation was complemented by all-wheel drive for the sedan and a hardtop for the convertible. All Sebring models were replaced by the Chrysler 200 line in 2011.
Standard Chrysler Sebring includes three-point seat belts, ABS, air conditioning, alloy wheels, cruise control, cruise control, driver’s airbag, electric driver’s seat, front fog lights, heated seats and windows, immobilizer, and electric side mirrors.
Second generation (ST-22 / JR; 2001-2006)
The Sebring name was used for three different cars during 2001: the coupe was based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse, while the sedan and convertible were developed on the Chrysler JR Chrysler Cirrus platform. 2004 Chrysler Sebring received minor changes to the front: redesigned grille, redesigned headlights and Chrysler wing emblem, located in the center at the rear; In addition, after the Chrysler Sebring sedan received a slight upgrade in 2004, the company stopped production of the Chrysler Sebring coupe after the 2005 model year.
Third generation (JS; 2007–2010)
Sebring has been replaced by a new model developed on the basis of the JS platform for the 2007 model year. Third-generation sebring was collected in Sterling Heights, Michigan, which contained more than 82% of the parts located in North America. Because the 2007 convertible was not offered, the 2006 Sebring convertible was abandoned, remaining in showrooms and on the company’s website until the 2008 model year. Sebring of the third generation borrowed a lot of style tips from the 2003 Chrysler Airflite concept car. Several stylistic solutions are borrowed from Chrysler Crossfire. The Sebring sedan and convertible were also sold with a right-hand drive through the UK and Ireland dealer network of Chrysler.
