Toyota Previa background information
Toyota Previa is a minivan produced by Toyota Motor Corporation since 1990. In Japan, the model is called Toyota Estima.
First generation (XR10/XR20; 1990)
The Toyota Previa minivan was introduced in 1990. This car had an unusual layout – its engine was located under the front seats, and not under the hood. There were versions with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. At home, in Japan, the model was called Toyota Estima.
In 2000, a generational change took place. The second Previa was created on the platform of the Camry sedan and received a traditional layout: engine – front, drive – to the front wheels. Unlike its predecessor, the Previa II was not sold in the US market. The car was equipped with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine (156 HP) or a two-liter turbodiesel (116 HP).

Second generation (XR30/XR40; 2000)
