Suzuki SX4 background information
Suzuki SX4 is a car. A joint development of the Japanese automaker Suzuki and the Italian Fiat (called Fiat Sedici). Manufactured since 2006 with sedan and hatchback body. In addition to the front-wheel drive version, there is also all-wheel drive.
The first generation
The design of the Suzuki SX4 was developed by Giorgetto Giugiaro’s ItalDesign. The predecessor of the SX4 is considered to be the Suzuki Aerio .
The SX4 was unveiled in 2006 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car was originally intended for the European market, but today it is sold in Japan, India, South America, Australia, South Africa and North America. The SX4 is assembled at Suzuki’s plants in Hungary (Esztergom), Japan, and India (Manesar). It was assumed that 60 thousand SX4 cars will be sold as follows: 2/3 by Suzuki and 1/3 by Fiat under the Fiat Sedici brand.
Engines used:
- 1.5-liter gasoline, identical to the engine of the Swift car;
- 1.6-liter (without VVT-i) with a maximum output of 102 hp (Suzuki SX4 cars sedan with this engine are sold in India by Maruti);
- 1.6-liter VVT engine used in the new Grand Vitara, 107 hp;
- 1.9-liter diesel DDIS engine, developed by Fiat, with a maximum capacity of 120 hp and a torque of 280 Nm.
The second generation
In March 2013, at the Geneva Motor Show, Suzuki presented the second generation of the SX4 model, in Europe and Russia the car is called Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, and in Ukraine – Suzuki SX4 New.
The length of the car is 4,300 mm, width – 1,765 mm, height – 1,575 mm, wheelbase 2,600 mm.
The car is equipped with a choice of naturally aspirated petrol engine M16A with a capacity of 1.6 liters with a capacity of 117 hp, torque of 156 Nm, which meets the Euro-6 standard, or a turbodiesel with a capacity of 1.6 liters with a capacity of 120 hp, torque of 320 Nm. There are a choice of versions with front or all-wheel drive AllGrip, with 5-speed. mechanical gearbox or CVT variator.
The second-generation Suzuki SX4 is manufactured at the Suzuki plant in Hungary.
