Lincoln Corsair background information
Lincoln Corsair – SUV class “K1” with front or all-wheel drive. The model debuted at the New York Auto Show in April 2019.
Lincoln Corsair is the successor to the MKS model. It is based on the Ford C2 platform, on which the latest Ford Escape and its European version of the Kuga are also built. However, Corsair differs from its relatives in the concern much more significantly than its predecessor. Lincoln designers tried to do everything to make the newcomer look like his older peers, namely the Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Navigator.
A similar story in the cabin. If in the former Lincoln MKS the architecture of the front panel of Ford was clearly traced, then in the Corsair the interior is almost completely original. Yes, and in terms of the quality of materials, as well as equipment, Lincoln is simply head and shoulders above its co-platformers: genuine leather, real wood and aluminum inserts, active noise reduction systems, projection, 8-inch screen of the Sync3 multimedia system, 12.3-inch digital tidy, panorama, wireless charging, contour lighting and of course sound signals from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Already in the database, the crossover has a single set of active safety systems: Co-Pilot 360: emergency braking, tracking lane markings, blind spot monitoring and adaptive light. For a surcharge: adaptive cruise, lane keeping, obstacle avoidance function, auto-braking when reversing and a full-fledged car valet (it independently controls the steering wheel, accelerator and gearbox).
At the moment, Lincoln Corsair is equipped with two gasoline “EcoBusts” with a volume of 2.0 (253 hp 373 Nm) and 2.3 (284 hp 420 Nm). Both engines work with a non-alternative 8-speed torque converter. The drive, regardless of the chosen power plant, can be either front or full (implemented by a multi-plate clutch connecting the rear axle).
