Lincoln Aviator background information
1st generation • 2002
The Lincoln Aviator SUV, produced from 2002 to 2005 in the United States, is a luxury version of the Ford Explorer. The car was equipped with a 4.6-liter V8 engine with 302 hp. and a five-speed automatic. The base Lincoln Aviator had rear-wheel drive, with an all-wheel drive transmission being an option. The sales volume of this SUV turned out to be significantly lower than expected, so the assembly line life of the model turned out to be short-lived. The place of the Lincoln Aviator in the lineup was taken by the Lincoln MKX.
2 generation • 2018
The production crossover Lincoln Aviator will go on sale in the US and China markets in the second half of 2019. The car will be equipped with a V6 3.0 petrol turbo engine developing 406 hp. and paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission, and the Grand Touring version will receive a 456-horsepower hybrid installation with a traction battery under the floor and a total. Drive – rear or full.
