Lincoln Continental background information

The Lincoln Continental is a luxury car manufactured by Lincoln (a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company) from 1939 to 1948 and from 1956 to 2002. However, having a lot in common with less expensive Ford cars, Lincoln Continental, however, had its own recognizable style, many additional options and luxurious finishes.

For a long time, Continental was the flagship model of Lincoln. Since the 1980s, Continental has relied not on the full-size but on the mid-size Ford Taurus platform, which has allowed it to compete with European and Japanese models of the same class. Production of the car ceased in 2002, when Continental was replaced by the LS model and later the MKS.

Lincoln Continental 2016 is a representative of the company’s tenth generation of luxury sedans (it should be recalled that the serial production of ninth-generation models stopped in 2002). In 2015, the company introduced the concept of this car, which caused a flurry of positive emotions, critical acclaim and even multiple high-profile speculations that the renewed Continental was destined to become the most successful model in the history of American automotive industry.

The exterior design of the new Lincoln Continental fully meets the concept and all the basic style standards of the company, which strives to give the appearance of its cars presentability, elegance and sophistication. The front of the Continental body is adorned with an attractive radiator grille, solid headlights and a sculptural, stylish hood with a stamping in the center.
