Lincoln Mark LT background information
The Lincoln Mark LT is a full-size pickup truck from Ford’s premium Lincoln brand. Introduced for the 2005 model year in the US and Canada, the Mark LT was the successor to the Lincoln Blackwood, which was only available in the 2002 model year due to poor sales figures. In contrast to the Blackwood, however, the Mark LT sold relatively well. It was technically related to the Ford F-150. Its curb weight is given as 2379-2593 kg.
The Mark LT was priced at US$43,495 and was expected to sell around 13,000 a year. This price is significantly lower than that of the main competitor Cadillac’s Escalade EXT. The Mark LT was one of the most discounted cars in the United States, with some dealers selling it for more than $10,000 below its suggested retail price. The Mark LT was offered with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The only engine available was a 5.0 liter V8 petrol engine with 265 kW (360 hp). It was manufactured at the River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, where the Ford F-150 is made.
The Mark LT has consistently sold at least twice as much as the Escalade EXT since its launch, however sales began to fall in 2007. For the 2009 model year the Mark LT was discontinued in the US and Canada and replaced by a better equipped variant of the Ford F-150 name Platinum replaced. In Mexico, the Mark LT was still available until 2014 for the equivalent of around 40,000 euros.
