Buick Cascada background information
The Buick Cascada is a front-wheel drive convertible of the “H1” class. The world premiere of the model took place at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2015.
The Cascada with the Buick nameplate is not a car that is unique in its essence, but a revised version of the Opel Cascada of the same name adapted for the American market. Nevertheless, she has the right to life and in some ways even better than a related model. It is initially richer in equipment to match Buick’s image as a premium car maker. Here you can count on a head light with 11 automatic functions, a front camera with road sign recognition, a warning of a dangerous approach to a vehicle in front and a rear view camera, a parking assistant and a blind spot monitoring system, a heated steering wheel and assistant at the start on the rise.
The main attribute of the Cascada – the soft top – is made multi-layered to provide a good level of heat and noise insulation of the cabin. The roof can be painted in one of three colors, combined with one of ten body colors. Moreover, even the basic equipment of the convertible includes a roof control panel, which can be folded and unfolded at a speed of up to 50 km / h. Everything about everything will take 17 seconds. At the same time, the luggage compartment will not suffer much: with an open top, its volume is 280 liters, with a closed one – 350 liters. And if you need more space, the rear seats can be folded down.
The Buick Cascada is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged SIDI engine producing 200 hp. With. power and 300 Nm of torque. This is, in fact, a forced 170-horsepower unit, in which, among other things, other types of pistons are used, and the compression ratio has been reduced from 10.5 to 9.5: 1. The unit is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
