Buick Envision background information
Buick Envision is a mid-size crossover from Buick. It was first shown in 2011 at the Shanghai Motor Show as a concept car. Photos of the serial version appeared in July 2014. The North American version was shown in Detroit in 2016. Envision is the first GM car to be made in China for the US market.
The car is assembled in China at the SAIC GM plant. The Envision lineup is between Encore and Enclave.
The first generation (2014-2020)
The crossover is built on the D2XX / D2UX platform. At the front there are McPherson struts and power steering. At the rear of the car has its own independent four-lever suspension.
Envision for the US market is offered in an all-wheel drive version with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 260 hp. with a six-speed automatic transmission.
In China, the car is also available 1.5-liter engine with 169 hp. Both front- and all-wheel drive options are available.
In 2018, the model was updated.

Second generation (from 2020)
In the summer of 2020, the second generation Buick Envision debuted in China and the United States. The car is built on the same platform GM D2XX. The car has slightly decreased in size: length – 4636 mm (-24), width – 1883 mm (+44), height – 1641 mm (-45), wheelbase – 2779 mm (+29 mm).
The list of basic equipment includes car braking systems, pedestrian recognition, lane keeping, distance indicator to the car in front and rear view camera. Options – blind spot monitoring technology, round-the-clock cameras, automatic parking system and windshield projection.
In the expensive versions, the Envision will be equipped with an advanced all-wheel drive transmission with individual clutches on each of the rear wheels. Standard modifications will remain front-wheel drive.
