Here is a little history about BMW X7

The BMW X7 (factory index G07) is a luxury crossover from the German company BMW, which entered the market in 2018 and competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and Range Rover. The X7 is designed primarily for the tastes and needs of buyers in the United States.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show in autumn 2017, the six-seater Concept X7 iPerformance debuted with a hybrid powerplant BMW eDrive, which is a harbinger of the production model.

On October 17, 2018, BMW introduced a production car that can be purchased from March 2019.

The production model is more than five meters long and has a wheelbase of more than three meters and is based on the modular platform “35up”, which is also called CLAR from BMW G11 / G12. Pendants – two-lever front and multi-lever rear. The equipment list should include air suspension on all wheels (in the X5 it is only on the rear axle), an entertaining multimedia system for rear passengers. Engines – supercharged gasoline and diesel I6 and V8 with a capacity of 306 to 455 hp. Units will work only with eight-speed automatic transmission ZF. It is also known that there will be a flagship version of the X7 with a 6.6-litre V12 engine with 610 hp diesel.

LED headlights and 20-inch wheels are standard, as are air suspension and electronically controlled shock absorbers. Additional options will be laser optics BMW Laserlight, full-drive chassis, alloy wheels with a diameter of 21 and 22 inches.

For an additional fee, the number of seats in the cabin will not increase but will be reduced to six, because “in the base” BMW X7 – seven-seater. If you fold the rear rows of seats, the trunk volume will increase from 326 to 2120 litres. The driver is welcomed by the BMW Live Cockpit Professional interface with two 12.3-inch screens – digital tidy and central display. The operating system of the media centre provides a BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, responding to voice calls “Hey BMW” and “OK BMW”. The software will be regularly updated “over the air”, but not in every country.

For all versions of the BMW X7, except the M50d, an optional off-road package has been prepared, which allows you to change four driving modes at the touch of a button: xSand, gravel, rocks, now. To adapt the exterior and interior, you can use the M Sport package, the Design Pure Excellence line and the BMW Individual program.

The BMW X7 will be manufactured at the BMW plant in Spartanburg.

In the 2021 model year, the BMW X7 received a version of the Alpina XB7. The car is equipped with a 612-horsepower V8 twin-turbocharged engine and has a unique appearance.
