Toyota Mark X background information

Toyota Mark X is a medium-sized Toyota car for the Asian market. In Japan, it is sold only in the Toyopet Store. Mark X was introduced in 2004 and is available in Kanegasaki, Iwate, Japan. Also sold in China under the name Toyota Reiz

The Toyota Mark X is the successor to the Mark II, which was first introduced in 1968, was known in the North American market as the Corona Mark II from 1972, and the Cressida from 1977 to 1992 and was the predecessor of Lexus cars. The Mark X is an alternative to the Toyota Camry for buyers who want a Camry-sized car, but prefer a front-wheel drive rear-wheel drive engine with all-wheel drive that the Camry doesn’t offer.

The Mark X is currently only available in Japan and China. In Japan, the Mark X is the exclusive version for Toyopet stores, while the Camry is exclusive to the Toyota Corolla network.

The Toyota Mark X is a combination of the previous Mark II, the sport-oriented Toyota Chaser and the luxury Toyota Cresta in a single vehicle, however, unlike its predecessors, which used in-line 6-cylinder engines, the Mark X offers V6 engines.

Both the first and second generations of the Toyota Mark X were manufactured at the Motomati plant in Japan.
