Toyota Comfort background information
The Toyota Comfort sedan, launched in mass production in 1995, was created specifically to work as a taxi car, as well as a training vehicle for driving schools. Its closest competitor was the Nissan Crew.
The sedan can have five or six seats, depending on the modification. In addition to the standard version, the model had a long wheelbase version called the Toyota Crown Comfort.
Toyota Comfort was sold in the local Japanese market and also exported to Hong Kong and Singapore. In 2009, the release of the sedan was suspended, but in 2011 the car again entered the conveyor.
Toyota Comfort was equipped with two-liter engines: gasoline or diesel, and there were also gas-powered versions in the model range. Transmissions – five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. All cars had rear-wheel drive.
In 2003, 59 copies of the “hot” version of the sedan were released – TRD Comfort GT-Z with a supercharged two-liter engine with a capacity of 160 hp. with.
Serial production of Toyota Comfort ended in 2017, replaced by the JPN Taxi.
