Isuzu D-Max background information

Isuzu D-Max are pickups manufactured by Isuzu since 2002.

The first generation (2002-2012)

The first generation of the medium-sized Isuzu D-Max pickup debuted in 2002. It was based on the platform of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup. Depending on the market and modification, the D-Max had many engines: diesels 1.9, 2.5, 2.8 and 3.0, as well as gasoline units 2.0, 2.2, 2.4. They worked with a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission.

In 2004, the Isuzu MU-7 SUV based on the Isuzu D-Max turbodiesel 3.0 4JJ1-TC DDi iTEQ with 146 hp was introduced. 4×2 or 4×4, which replaced the Isuzu Rodeo.

Third generation (from 2019)

The model is built on the new Isuzu Dynamic Drive platform, compared to the second generation version with a two-row cab 30 mm shorter (5265 mm), 10 mm wider (1870 mm) and 5 mm higher (1790 mm). Wheelbase increased by 30 mm to 3125 mm.
