Isuzu Forward background information
The Isuzu Forward or Isuzu F-Series is a medium-duty truck manufactured by Isuzu in Japan. The series was mainly available as large and medium-sized trucks, as well as in all-wheel-drive versions, such as FSS and FTS.
Most medium and large trucks can be identified by the ‘Forward’ badge on the grille; behind, however, there is usually only an Isuzu shield.
In the US, the main competing models are the Bering MD, the Chevrolet W series, the GMC W series, the Mitsubishi Fuso FK and the UC 2000/2300. In Japan, the Forward competes against the Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter, Nissan Diesel Condor and Hino Ranger.
For Europe, these vehicles were from 2006 to 2014 at V.N. Automóveis assembled in Portugal and since then in Italy.
For the markets in Chile and Peru, the vehicles are delivered to Huechuraba (Chile) in SKD sets, where two units per day are assembled by 13 workers. All parts are delivered from Japan. They will be provided with Chevrolet signs. On June 10, 2008, the 20,000th was built there. Trucks (F and N series) together.
