Honda S2000 background information
Honda S2000 – light rear-wheel drive front-engine car with a roadster body with equal weight distribution on the rear and front axles, manufactured by Honda. Manufactured since April 1999 and timed to the company’s 50th anniversary as the successor to the S500, S600 and S800 roadsters. In 2003, the Honda roadster underwent a restyling. Equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 237 hp. and a 6-speed manual transmission.
In 2008, a modification of the S2000 CR (Club Racer) was released, focused on the track. It features a reduced weight, chassis adjustment, removable aluminum roof, air conditioning and audio system in the list of options, the spare wheel has been replaced by a kit for repairing tire punctures. On August 7, 2009 production of the S2000 was stopped, in honor of which Honda decided to release a special modification of the car – Ultimate Edition.
Each S2000 from the factory was equipped with: 2.2-liter engine with 237 horsepower, six-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, self-locking differential, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, rear diffuser, AM immobilizer, XM satellite radio, head-mounted speakers, leather bucket seats, cruise control, power windows, remote access function and alloy wheels. In addition to the CR, the driver received: a replaceable aluminum roof, body kits, an additional design communication system, wider rear tires and a “peak power indicator”. For weight loss, air conditioning and stereo are options for this model.
