GMC Canyon background information
1st generation, 2004–2012
The mid-size GMC Canyon pickup truck entered the conveyor belt in the US state of Louisiana in 2004. The car was designed jointly by General Motors and Isuzu, and the Chevrolet Colorado and Isuzu D-Max models were created on the same platform.
GMC Canyon was offered with several cab options, and under the hood of the car there were gasoline engines: a 2.8-liter four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter five-cylinder. The gearbox could be mechanical or automatic, the drive – rear or full. In 2006, the model was modernized and received engines of increased volume – 2.9 or 3.7 liters.
The production of the first generation machines ended in 2012.

2nd generation, 2014
The second-generation GMC Canyon mid-size pickup has been in production since 2014 and is only sold in the US and Canadian markets. The car is analogous to the Chevrolet Colorado model, but differs from it in improved trim and richer equipment.
The base “Canyon” is equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (203 hp), and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 184 hp is also installed on the car. With. The top version of the pickup has a V6 3.6 gasoline engine with direct injection and a two-cylinder shutdown system under the hood, the output of this power unit is 313 liters. With.
GMC Canyon is equipped only with automatic transmissions: the version with a “six” – an eight-speed “automatic”, the rest of the options – a six-speed. The drive can be rear or full.
Buyers are offered options with a two-door or four-door cabins, with two options for the length of the loading platform. In 2016, the GMC Canyon Denali pickup went on sale with chrome body decor, 20-inch wheels and improved equipment.
In the US, prices for the GMC Canyon pickup start at $ 21,000, with the Toyota Tacoma as a competitor.
