GMC Hummer EV background information
GMC Hummer EV is a line of electric SUVs and pickups (simply called Hummer EV; abbreviated as HEV), manufactured by GMC, a division of General Motors, under its own sub-brand. The Hummer EV line was presented live in October 2020.
The Hummer EV sub-brand includes a pickup (SUT) and a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to be introduced in 2021.
The cars are built on the GM BT1 platform.
Hummer EV SUT
The length of the car is 5507 mm, width and wheelbase reach 2201 and 3445 mm, respectively.
A fully controlled chassis in Auto mode makes the GMC Hummer EV steerable. At low speeds, the rear wheels rotate out of phase with the front, which reduces the diameter from 13.5 to 11.3 m.
The pickup does not have a frame construction, and the whole structure is tied to a block of lithium-ion batteries, to which subframes are attached. The suspension in the front and rear models is independent, and its strokes reach 330 mm. Thanks to the air suspension, the ground clearance and the geometric parameters change in a wide range. In the basic position, the ground clearance is 257 mm, and the angles of entry and exit and the ramp – 41.5 and 31.6 degrees, respectively. In Terrain Mode, the same figures are already 302 mm, 44.3 and 33.7 degrees. The depth of the overcome ford varies from 660 to 711 mm.
The pickup in the top version received three engines with a total output of 1014 hp. and a torque of 15,592 Nm. In the Watts to Freedom lunch control mode, the car is able to accelerate from 0 to 97 km / h in about 3 seconds. When the lithium-ion battery pack is fully charged, 563 km should be enough.
The Hummer EV3X will debut in the fall of 2022. It will also receive three electric motors, but with a capacity of 811 hp. and 12,880 Nm, and the distance on a single charge will be reduced to 483 km. In the spring of 2023, the EV2X will go on sale. There will be two engines (634 hp, 10,033 Nm), but the autonomy will remain the same (483 km). The most affordable will be the Hummer EV², it will not have air suspension and a fully controlled chassis, it will receive engines from the EV2X version of the same power, the car will be able to cover 402 km on a single charge.
