Citroen C4 Aircross background information

The Citroën C4 Aircross is a compact crossover from the automaker Citroën.

The first generation (2011 – 2017)

The first information about him appeared in September 2011. The final version was presented in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The platform is taken from the Mitsubishi ASX and is also used together in the Peugeot 4008.

Sales began in April 2012.

The exterior immediately reveals the French origin of the car: elegant lines are combined with the powerful features of the crossover. Thanks to the original design, the car is easy to recognize. The front part of C4 Aircross is decorated with a falshradiatorny lattice with the stretched emblem of a brand on all length. On the sides of the radiator grille is a clear optics, which partially extends to the sides of the body. The sides of the Citroen C4 Aircross are decorated with convex wheel arches, protected by plastic pads. The rear of the crossover is equipped with large lighting, and the trunk door – a spoiler.

Dimensions of Citroen C4 Aircross are: length – 4340 mm, width – 1800 mm, height – 1630 mm, wheelbase – 2670 mm.

The ride quality of the car is significantly different from its brethren, so the developers have increased ground clearance and improved handling, making the chassis stiffer and working on the power steering. The suspension of the crossover is represented by MacPherson front and multi-link design at the rear. Several transmission modes are also available for the Citroen C4 Aircross: 2WD front-wheel drive for the city, 4WD and Lock mode, which is more commonly used for off-road driving. The front wheels of the C4 Aircross are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, and the rear disc brakes.

The second-generation (2018 – present time)

In 2018, the second generation Citroën C4 Aircross will be presented in China, which is a slightly enlarged version of the European Citroën C3 Aircross of the second generation. The car is built on a modular platform PSA PF1 platform.
