Citroen C1 background information
The Citroën C1 is a small hatchback manufactured by Citroën mainly for the European market.
The first generation
It is a four-seater car with three or five doors, which was first presented to the general public at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005 and entered the market in July 2005. The design is almost identical to the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo.
Assembled at Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile Czech, s.r.o. (TPCA) in Colin, Czech Republic.
The second generation
The second generation will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014.
The car is built on a platform jointly developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota, along with the Peugeot 108 and second-generation Toyota Aygo. And will be equipped with two three-cylinder engines 1.0 l (68 hp) and 1.2 l Puretech with 82 hp.
Although the latest generation Citroen C1 has almost identical dimensions to its predecessors, which is not surprising, since it is built on the same platform, the developers have made every effort to create an interesting and attractive design that would distinguish the hatchback from the rest of the segment. The dual headlights are almost the same as the Citroen C4 Cactus, and the vertical LED lights are successfully integrated into the front bumper. Rectangular headlights with 3D effect and tinted glass add to the back of the style. In profile, the hatchback resembles the Aygo and 108 models.
Modern C1 is available in three configurations: Touch, Feel and Flair. The entry-level Touch model offers: remote door closing function, electric door drive and stereo system with MP3 connection. Going to Feel, the driver gets: painted in the body color side mirrors and door handles, air conditioning, driver’s seat with height adjustment and infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touch screen. Top Flair will add: 15-inch alloy wheels, tinted glass, tachometer, electric side mirrors and rear view camera. The Furio version is presented separately, which in turn guarantees the presence of a spoiler on the roof and a central exhaust pipe at the rear. Modern models are offered with a significant set of safety features, which includes: six cushions, chassis stability system, dynamic braking control system and tire pressure monitoring.
