Land Rover Freelander background information

Land Rover Freelander is a Land Rover British SUV manufactured from 1997 to 2014.

The project of a compact crossover under the brand Land Rover originates in the late 1980s. The maternal company Rover Group, which belonged to Land Rover, conducted a marketing research that gave a green light for the future model under the code marking Freelander CB40. However, at that time, there was no money to implement the idea in Rover, and the British began to look for a assistant partner.
