Citroen Saxo background information
Citroen Saxo is a city car of Citroën, produced from June 1996 to October 2003. It was the successor to the Citroen AX and was built on the Peugeot 106.
Saxo is presented in a hatchback body with three or five doors. There were different levels of equipment from Basis to VTS. In addition to various 33-87 kW gasoline engines (45-118 hp), a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 40-42 kW (54-57 hp) was proposed.
In September 1999, the Saxo underwent a renovation. Here are the headlights and taillights and revised according to the latest design of the brand. As in many models, the Citroën Saxo was replaced in two stages. First, in the spring of 2002, a five-door Citroën C3 appeared as a replacement for the Saxo. However, almost two years after the release of the Citroën C3, the Saxo continued to be sold as an inexpensive entry-level car. In the fall of 2003, the Citroën C2 was introduced, which used the shortened Citroën C3 platform and is only available in a three-door version, and replaced the Saxo.
A total of 1,653,514 cars were produced.
