Toyota Coaster is a family of copper-class buses manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation. The first generation was introduced in 1969, the second generation was introduced in 1982, the third generation in 1993 and the fourth generation in late 2016. The third generation was upgraded in 2001 and again in 2007. In Japan, Coaster is sold exclusively in Toyota Store dealerships. Since 1996, the Toyota Coaster has also been sold under the name Hino Liesse II.
Toyota Coaster is made in Japan in Karia, Aichi (Yoshiwara plant).
Several unlicensed third-generation Coasters clones have been made in China, including JNQ5041 / JNQ6601 Jiangnan Motors JNQ5041 / JNQ6601, Joylong Motors HKL6700, Golden Dragon XML6701 and Sunlong Bus SLl6770.
The fourth-generation Toyota Coaster was introduced on December 22, 2016 and is available for purchase in Japan on January 23, 2017. The bus is capable of carrying 9-29 seated passengers, optionally equipped with in-line 4-cylinder turbodiesels 4.0 l N04C – VJ type with a capacity of 150 hp or 4.0 l N04C – VK Type with 180 hp, 5-speed. Manual or 6-speed. Automatic, rear or all-wheel drive.
