Oldsmobile Aurora background information
Oldsmobile Aurora is a full-size sedan manufactured by Oldsmobile from 1994 to 2003. It was made in two generations: the first was a luxury sports sedan, which, along with the Buick Riviera, is built on the G-Body platform, derived from Cadillac. The second generation was a more conventional full-size car, as the Aurora was now the only offer offered to the company, and the G-Body platform extended to all full-size GM models.
The Aurora became a high-end sports sedan offered by Oldsmobile, which runs on a four-cam 32-valve 4.0-liter V8, displacing the Oldsmobile Toronado coupe and eventually the Oldsmobile 98 and Oldsmobile 88 in the lineup. Aurora offered both the V8 and V6 in 2001 and 2002, but returned to the V8 only in 2003. It is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission with a change in the algorithm. No manual transmission has ever been offered on the Aurora.
