Infiniti I30 / I35 background information
The Infiniti I was a front-wheel drive mid-size sedan offered by the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan from May 1995 to autumn 2004 in two generations mainly in the USA.
The Infiniti I30 was a Nissan Maxima-based sedan with a distinct body, powered by a 3.0-litre, 24-valve, dual-overhead-cam V6 producing 142 kW (193 hp) or (second generation) 169 kW (230 hp), available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.
In late 2001, the I30 received a larger 3.5-liter V6 (190 kW/258 hp) and was renamed the Infiniti I35.
The I30 was Infiniti’s bestseller, selling 115,749 of the first generation; the second generation found 30,391 customers in its first year.
In 2004 the model was discontinued without a direct successor.
