Citroen Visa background information
The Citroën Visa is a five-door hatchback from the French company Citroën, produced from 1978 to 1988 and is the next Citroën Ami 8. The Citroën Visa is the predecessor of the Citroën AX and Citroën ZX, due to its position in the upper range, including the distance between them. The new Citroën is based on the Peugeot 104 platform. The 104th and Renault 5 are competitors of the Citroën Visa. Early Visa prototypes, called the Prototype Y, were rejected by then-new owner Peugeot, and were manufactured in Romania by Oltcit under the name Oltcit Axel. This model was imported to France under the name Citroën Axel.
A total of 1,254,390 cars were produced.
