Cadillac Eldorado background information
The Cadillac Eldorado is an American personal luxury car manufactured by GM’s Cadillac from 1953 to 2002.
It was the flagship of the Cadillac two-door model line, one of the most expensive cars of this brand. Competitors include Lincoln Mark, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado and Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe.
Produced for a number of years, the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham series (1957-1960) was the most expensive model of this manufacturer. In other model years, this place was occupied by long-wheelbase sedans and sedans Cadillac Series 75.
Under the name “Eldorado” a number of different models were produced, not always technologically related to each other; in particular – since 1967 the car was transferred to the then unique for the brand front-wheel drive platform.
Production was carried out at plants in Detroit, Lansing and Hemtreck, Michigan, as well as in Linden, New Jersey.
