Lexus HS250h background information
Sedan Lexus HS250h, which became the first hybrid model of the brand that does not have a gasoline equivalent, began to be sold in the USA and Japan in 2009. The car was created on the third-generation Toyota Avensis platform, and its power plant with a total capacity of 190 hp. with. consisted of a gasoline four-cylinder 2.4 engine (150 HP), an electric motor and a continuously variable variator. Nickel metal hydride batteries were located in the trunk.
The interior of the car is made of bioplastic materials. The Lexus HS is larger than the Lexus IS, but smaller than the Lexus ES. Like the Lexus CT, Lexus ES and Lexus RX FWD, the HS has front-wheel drive, unlike other Lexus hybrids. According to the Lexus classification, HS means “Harmonious Sedan”.
In the Japanese market, Lexus also has a twin model – the Toyota Sai. Due to low demand, the Lexus HS250h left the US market in 2012.
