Chevrolet Corsica background information

The Chevrolet Corsica (named after Corsica, France) is a compact front-wheel drive vehicle produced by Chevrolet from 1987 to 1996. Corsica was built on the L-body platform. It shared the L-body platform with the 2-door Chevrolet Beretta, and the revived Pontiac Tempest, which was essentially the same car but only sold in Canada. Corsica came in two styles and four finishes. Initially sold only as a 4-door sedan, it was later also available as a 5-door hatchback from 1989 to 1991. The Corsicans were built alongside the Beretta at both the Wilmington Assembly in Delaware and the Linden Assembly in New Jersey.
