The Chevrolet Captiva is a five-door, five- and seven-seater compact crossover developed by the South Korean division of General Motors. The machine is based on the GM Theta platform, which is also used in Daewoo Winstorm, Opel Antara, Saturn Vue, GMC Terrain cars.

First generation (2006-2018)
The car was developed at a design center in Incheon and is based on the GM Theta platform. The main competitors of Chevrolet Captiva in size (but not in price) are cars such as: Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Nissan X-Trail. This model is available in different versions: 5-seater with front-wheel drive and 7-seater with all-wheel drive.
The Chevrolet Captiva was updated in 2011. The company has strengthened the suspension, improved management. The suspension has been significantly improved: the stiffness of the springs has been changed and new anti-roll bars have been installed. In the new Chevrolet Captiva, the rear axle can be connected as required by an electronically controlled clutch, torque distribution between the axles can reach a ratio of 50:50.
In addition to the new exterior, the car received a new 3.0-liter engine with 258 horsepower, a new 6-speed automatic transmission, and minor changes were made to the interior of the car.
In 2013, the model was updated for the second time.
Second generation (from 2019)
In November 2018, at the Colombian Motor Show in Bogota, the premiere of the second generation Chevrolet Captiva, which is a redesigned Baojun 530 and entered the local market in 2019. Thus, General Motors began to distribute the products of the joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) outside China.
The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine (147 hp, 230 Nm). 6 units are aggregated with it. Manual transmission and “robot” with two clutches.
