Datsun 260Z background information
The Datsun 260Z sports unit, debuting in 1974, came to replace the 240Z model. On the native Japanese market, this car was called Nissan Fairlady Z.
The car was equipped with a row six-cylinder carburettor motor with a volume of 2.6 litres and a capacity of 167 hp The version for the American market has developed 140 forces due to local environmental norms. Transmission – four-stage mechanical or three-stage automatic.
Initially, Datsun 260Z was offered only in a double version, but soon there was a slightly elongated version with a hatchback body, in which two additional “truncated” chairs were located in the cabin.
In the US, the model 260z already in 1975 was replaced by Datsun 280Z, but in other markets, the car was sold in 1978.
