Chevrolet SSR background information

Chevrolet SSR is a pickup convertible of the American company Chevrolet. It was produced from 2003 to 2006. The name SSR stands for Super Sport Roadster.

On the car of 2003 and 2004 the Vortec 5300 engine in volume of 5,3 liters, 300 hp was established. V8. With it, the SSR accelerated to 60 m / h (97 km / h) in 7.7 seconds. Starting in 2005, the SSR was fitted with a 6.0 LS2 V8 390 hp engine, which was also used on the Chevrolet Corvette C6 and Pontiac GTO. Since 2005, a manual transmission has also been available as an option. In 2006, the LS2 engine underwent a minor overhaul, which increased its power to 395 hp.
