Chery Tiggo background information
Chery Tiggo is a family of 5-door SUVs made by the Chinese company Chery.
The first generation
The first generation Chery Tiggo was introduced in 2005 with licensed Mitsubishi engines from 1.6 liters to 2.4 liters with 119 hp. up to 139 hp respectively, manual and automatic transmissions, front or all-wheel drive with viscous BordWarner clutch, McPherson front suspension and independent rear suspension, customized by Lotus Engineering. The car has its own features that can distinguish it from its prototype Toyota RAV4.
In September 2010, the model was upgraded. The car got a new look. The equipment was completely redesigned, which was replenished with a 1.6 engine (126 hp) and a variator transmission.
The main production is concentrated in China, but the car is also produced in Uruguay, Italy (called DR-5) and Egypt, as well as in Russia.
In the nine years since Tiggo’s release, Chery has sold more than 600,000 units. The crossover is sold in more than 80 countries.
Chery Tiggo 3
In 2014, the Tiggo model was upgraded again and it was named Chery Tiggo 3. The Tiggo 3 changed the radiator grille, headlights and headlights, bumpers and fifth door. The restyling affected not only the appearance, but also the dimensions: the length is now 4420 mm (+30 mm to the previous version), width – 1760 (-5 mm), height 1670 (-35 mm). The former wide range of engines (units 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4) is narrowed down to one “four” 1.6 with 126 hp. Only front-wheel drive, two gearboxes: 5-speed. mechanical and variator QR019CHA (CVT).
