BYD Yuan background information
Byd Yuan – a city -class crossover passenger car produced under the Chinese BYD brand in 2015-2020 and as electric BYUan EV since 2018.
In the spring of 2015, BYD expanded its range with the smallest and cheapest crossover under the name BYD S1. Similarly to the competitive Ford Ecosport, the car gained a narrow and high figure, with two -colored body painting and a characteristic, externally placed spare wheel attached to the trunk lid.
In the second half of 2015, BYD introduced a new order in the names, withdrawing the existing alphanumeric markings in favor of terms referring to the historic imperial dynasties in China. In this way, the internal combustion variant at the turn of 2015 and 2016 took over the name of Byd Yuan from the hybrid variant.
Similarly to the larger S3 model, also in parallel with the premiere of the Crossover S1, the combustion and electric variant under the name Byd Yuan DM hit the sale. The Dual Motor-known propulsion system known from other models connected a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, developing 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
BYD Yuan
