BYD Tang background information
The Tang is a car model of the Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD Auto, a subsidiary of the BYD group. The model is named after the Tang dynasty, one of the most important sections in Chinese history. It is offered with different engine variants as a plug-in hybrid, as a pure electric car or as a vehicle with a combustion engine.
1st generation (2015–2018)
In 2014, the vehicle was publicly shown as a design study at Auto China in Beijing and has been in series production since 2015. Although the sale only started in mid -2015, BYD was able to drop out 18,375 tang that year.
2nd generation (since 2018)
The second generation of the Tang made his debut at Auto China in April 2018 and has been sold in China since June 2018. The sales start in Norway in August 2021. The vehicle is driven by the Hybrid drive DM. The tang should accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds. Since spring 2021, the hybrid has also been sold as a DM-I and since June 2022 as a DM-P with the blade battery.
BYD Tang
