The BMW E70 is the second generation of the Bavarian BMW X5 crossover.
The car was presented in August 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. Sales began in November 2006 in North America and early 2007 in Europe. Like its predecessor, the second-generation E53 is assembled at the US plant.
The transition to the new E70 body in 2006 once again led to an upgrade of the engine range. Modern range of engines – two turbodiesels 231 hp and 286 hp and petrol: 3.0 l in-line six with 272 hp. and 4.8 litres of eight with 355 hp. The latter accelerates the X5 from 0 to 100 in 6.5 seconds.
