SsangYong Musso background information
SsangYong Musso is a medium-sized SUV manufactured in South Korea by SsangYong from 1993 to 2005.
Since 2018, the second generation of the model is produced in a pickup body.
The first generation
The first models, released in 1993, were equipped with a gasoline engine or a diesel engine manufactured under license from Mercedes-Benz, which characterizes the engines as reliable. According to the manufacturer, the 3.2-liter gasoline engine is capable of overhauling 1 million km. Until 2008, the German diesel engine was abandoned due to established environmental regulations in Korea. The SUV is equipped with a mechanical 5-speed or 4-speed automatic transmission, also made under license from Mercedes.
The design of the car was designed by Ken Greenley, and therefore had a very stylish European look, which is popular. In 1994 and 1996, the car received the Auto Design Award at the Birmingham Motor Show in the UK.
The second generation
In January 2018, the SsangYong Rexton Sports pickup truck (I am known in Europe as SsangYong Musso II), based on the Rexton G4, was presented in South Korea. The pickup wheelbase is 235 mm (3100) larger. It is 245 mm longer (5095) and 45 (1870 mm) higher. All the lighting behind is different. Dimensions of the loading platform – 1300 by 1570 mm, height of the sides – 570 mm.
