The seven-seater full-size MPV car (multipurpose vehicles) Hyundai Trajet (translated from French as “path”, “journey”) was first introduced in Frankfurt in the fall of 1999. The model became the first-born of Hyundai in the field of minivans, allowing the company to infiltrate this segment of the car market.
Trajet is built on an elongated Sonata IV platform by specialists from Hyundai European Design Studio in Germany specifically for the markets of eastern and western Europe. The car is produced at a factory in Ulsan (South Korea). 300 million dollars were invested in the project; it took two and a half years to develop and implement. The result justified all the investment.
Hyundai Trajet safety is provided by two frontal airbags, front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters. At the request of the customer, the installation of side airbags is possible.
In 2006, Trajet was discontinued.
Potential buyers of the Hyundai Trajet will be able to appreciate its stylish, car-like outlines, as well as comfort, practicality and reliability. The car is ideally suited both for traffic on busy highways, and for narrow city streets.
