Daihatsu Thor background information
The Daihatsu Thor is a compact minivan produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu from November 2016.
The car was born as an heir of Daihatsu Materia and is marketed only in Japan.
It is also sold in the local market as a Toyota Tank, Toyota Roomy and Subaru Justy.
The car is a 3.70 meter long compact minivan based on the platform of Daihatsu Boon (M700) and was introduced on November 9, 2016.
A characteristic of Thor is the body that has a square line with flat sides and sliding doors in order to have a very spacious interior; The rear sofa is sliding and foldable so as to create a completely flat load compartment 1.5 meters long. This is a model sold only in Japan and, thanks to a badge engineering agreement, it is also marketed by Toyota as Toyota Tank in the ToyoPet Store and Netz Store dealerships, while the TOYOTA ROOMY version is exclusive of Toyota Store and Corolla Store Japanese dealerships . Also Subaru markets its own Ramaged Subaru Justy version.
The engine is a three-cylinder 1.0 1kR-FE vacuumed 12 VVT-i valves from 70 horsepower coupled to a CVT automatic transmission and the front or integral traction or a 1.0 1KR-Vet Turbo erecting 98 horsepower and 140 Nm of maximum torque with CVT gearbox and front traction. Daihatsu markets it with two different aesthetic characterizations: the Thor Base and Thor Custom with specific front with wider chrome calendar, enriched standard equipment and higher price. Optional for both Aero aesthetic kit with front and side miniskins and spoilers on the rear window.
In November 2018 there is a light debut of a slight Facelift where the front that owns new chrome bands will be returned, new LED lights and new assisted driving devices debut as automatic emergency braking and the equipment of the various fittings is improved.
In September 2020 both Daihatsu Thor and the twins Toyota Roomy and Subaru Justy received a more substantial restyling, while the Toyota Tank version was suppressed.
