Suzuki Aerio / Baleno / Liana background information

The Suzuki Aerio was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the Baleno/Esteem. In Europe and some Asian countries, it was called Suzuki Liana. The car was offered as a sedan, as well as with a high one-volume five-door body, which could be called both a hatchback and a compact van.

The base model for the Japanese market was equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (110 hp) paired with a manual or automatic transmission. The more powerful Suzuki Aerio 1.8 (125 hp) was only equipped with an “automatic”. All modifications were offered with front or all-wheel drive.

Aerio for the American market had a different range of powertrains. These were petrol engines of 2.0 and 2.3 liters with a capacity of 145 and 157 hp. With. respectively. Gearboxes – manual or automatic, drive – front or full.

Suzuki Aerio hatchbacks ended in 2006, and sedans – in 2007, the vacant place in the lineup was taken by the Suzuki SX4.
