Daihatsu Mebius background information

Daihatsu Mebius is Daihatsu’s hybrid vehicle. Available from April 2013 to present. Assembled at the Tsutsumi plant in Toyota.

Daihatsu Mebius is a budget version of the Toyota Prius Alpha station wagon. The only difference is the exclusively five-seater layout.

The car is produced only in the body DAA-ZVW41N. In April 2014, a restyling was carried out. The power plant of the car consists of gasoline and electric engines. The total maximum power is 136 horsepower.

Liquid-cooled 4-cylinder, 16-valve VVT-i petrol engine, 1797 cc, 99 horsepower. The engine runs on the Atkinson cycle, characterized by increased efficiency, with a high compression ratio of 13.0. Equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system. Engine model – 2ZR-FXE. In order to save fuel on cars, there is no idling, and it is also equipped with an electric power steering. The transmission is an electric continuously variable transmission (hybrid synergic drive). Paired with a gasoline engine is an 82 horsepower AC synchronous electric motor. Engine model – 5JM. The electric motor is powered by a main battery consisting of 28 nickel-hydrogen small batteries with a capacity of 6.5 Ah each.

After the model facelift in August 2013, fuel consumption is 26.2 km/l in JC08 mode (Japanese fuel consumption measurement method).
