In this regard, the body models of both Toyota Ipsum and Toyota Gaia are identical – the body (front-wheel drive models): SXM 10G, CXM 10G, ACM 10G and the body (all-wheel drive models): SXM 15G, CXM 15G, ACM 15G. It is a family minivan with three rows of seats. In terms of length, height, trunk and interior dimensions, it is larger in comparison with the Toyota Ipsum systercar.

There is also a version with four-wheel drive (only with a 2.0 liter engine). Four-wheel drive – electromechanical, connected from the button (only when stopped).
In 1998, the Toyota Gaia minivan appeared. The first series, in various bodies (SXM 10G, CXM 10G, SXM 15G, CXM 15G) was produced from May 1998 to April 2001 in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
The second series of Toyota Gaia left the assembly line in April 2001 and was produced until September 2004, in various bodies (SXM 10G, CXM 10G, ACM 10G), when this model (Toyota Gaia) was replaced by a new one – Toyota Isis. In this series, the all-wheel drive version was not produced. Rectangular brake lights and 4 differently shaped headlights have become a distinctive feature of this car.
In 2002, another version of the car appeared, which was called Limited – a body (ACM 15G).
