Suzuki Lapin background information

Suzuki Lapin (Lapin from French – rabbit) is a kei car produced by the Japanese company Suzuki since 2002. The car is built on the platform of the Alto and Wagon R models, which are also kei cars. According to company statistics, 90% of buyers of this model are women. The first generation car was also sold under the Mazda name as the Mazda Spiano.

First generation (HE21S)

The first generation of the car was introduced in January 2002. There were 2 configurations available: G and X, which were equipped with a 660 cm³ 40 kW engine. There was also a version with a turbocharger, the power of which increased to 47 kW. All-wheel drive was optionally available.

Second generation (HE22S)

The second generation debuted in November 2008. The car was not much different from the previous generation.

Third generation (HE33S)

The third generation Suzuki Lapin was introduced in June 2015. The kei car is equipped with a new 658 cm³ three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 38 kW (52 hp), a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optionally available.
