Pontiac Vibe background information
Pontiac Vibe is a hatchback that Pontiac has been selling since 2002. It was co-developed by General Motors with Toyota, which produces a mechanically similar Toyota Matrix. The main competitors of this model are Mazda 3, Dodge Caliber and Chevrolet HHR.
From 2002 to 2004, the redesigned right-hand drive version of the Vibe was exported as a Toyota Voltz to the domestic market of Japan. Toyota Voltz was not popular in Japan and its sales stopped after two model years.
Initially, the Pontiac Vibe had a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 132 and 182 hp. After a redesign in 2008, the 1.8-liter power unit was left with 132 hp. The car with this engine and manual transmission consumes 8.4 l / 100 km in the mixed cycle. The vehicle accelerates for 10.0 s with 100 km. The engine demonstrates productive and smooth operation. But the star is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 158 hp. It offers more power and can reach maximum torque at low speeds. Consumes a car with a 2.4-liter engine 9.8 l / 100km in the mixed cycle. Acceleration to one hundred occurs in 9.5 seconds.
