Honda is an international industrial company, best known for its cars, motorcycles and robots.
The company was founded on September 24, 1948, founder – Soichiro Honda.
Products – cars, trucks, airplanes, motorcycles, scooters, generators, robots, marine engines.
Until the 1960s, Honda specialized in the production of motorcycles, and in general, the automobile industry was not its business. Subsequently, the company decided to enter the automotive market and this news was not approved by the Japanese government. It was believed that competing in the world market with Toyota, Datsun (Nissan) and Mitsubishi, would ultimately harm the interests of the state. In the end, the opinion of officials was ignored by the Honda leadership.
After the energy crisis of 1973, when rising oil and fuel prices led to demand for commercial vehicles, Honda models became bestsellers in the US market and somewhat strengthened their position in the European market.
Honda has succeeded due to objective factors such as high quality and reliability of the car (one of the best in the automotive industry), modern technological solutions (by the way, Honda designers first used the transverse engine and front-wheel drive, which made the cabin more spacious with compact car size ), original marketing policy (Honda – drivers’ cars – cars focused on active driving style, with a modern design in the styles of “sport” and “techno”).
The Honda FCX with a hydrogen engine is expected to go down in the company and global automotive history, making Honda the world’s first automaker to launch mass production of all-hydrogen cars.
