REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Justy, Coupe, Loyale, XT and Wagon

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the wiper arm.
- Remove the wiper shaft cap nut and cushion.
- Remove the rear hatch interior trim cover.
- At the wiper motor, disconnect the electrical harness.
- Remove the wiper motor retainer bolts.
- Remove the wiper motor.
To install:
- Install the wiper motor inside the hatch assembly. Insert and tighten the retainer bolts to 52 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
- Install the cushion, nut and cap. Tighten the nut snugly.
- Install the wiper arm assembly.
- Connect the wiper motor harness.
- Install the interior trim panel to the hatch.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Check for proper wiper operation.
Legacy, Impreza and SVX

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the wiper arm.
- Remove the wiper shaft cap and nut.
- Remove the rear hatch interior trim cover.
- At the wiper motor, disconnect the electrical harness.
- Remove the wiper motor retainer bolts.
- Remove the wiper motor.
To install:
- Install the wiper motor inside the hatch assembly. Insert and tighten the retainer bolts to 39-62 inch lbs. (4-7 Nm).
- Install the nut and cap. Tighten the nut snugly.
- Install the wiper arm assembly.
- Connect the wiper motor harness.
- Install the interior trim panel to the hatch.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Check for proper wiper operation.
