DISTRIBUTORLESS IGNITION SYSTEM

Electronic Control Unit (ECU)

The ECU is incorporated into the Engine Control Module (ECM).

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The ECM is located on the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Move front passenger floor mat and carpet out of the way to access the protective cover over the ECM.
3. Remove the retaining bolts securing the cover over the ECM. Detach the cover and place aside.
4. Release the lock securing the wiring harness to the ECM module. Slide the harness out of the connector.
5. Remove the retaining nuts securing the ECM to the floor. Lift the ECM out.

To install:

6. Connect the wire harness to the ECM module.
7. Place the ECM in the vehicle and secure in place with the retaining nuts
8. Position the protective cover over the ECM and secure with the protective bolts.
9. Install the interior carpet and floor mat in place.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
