FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS)(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Intake Manifold

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

2. Remove the collector cover.

NOTE:

Follow the steps below when removing the collector cover.

(1) Pull up the two points at the rear (A).

(2) Pull up the two points at the front (B) while moving them forward.

3. Remove the air intake duct.

4. Remove the intercooler and intercooler stay (LH).

5. Remove the air duct hose (LH).

6. Remove the intake duct.

7. Remove the air breather hose from the air intake boot.

8. Disconnect the air intake boot from the air cleaner case and move aside to the front of the vehicle.

9. Disconnect the engine harness clip from the intake manifold protector.

10. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

11. Remove the intake manifold protector (RH).

12. Disconnect the engine harness clip from the intake manifold protector.

13. Remove the intake manifold protector (LH).

14. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the by-pass air pipe.

15. Disconnect the connector from the throttle body.

16. Disconnect the air breather hose from air breather pipe.

17. Remove the air breather pipe bolts.

18. Disconnect the engine harness from the air breather pipe.

19. Remove the connectors from manifold absolute pressure and intake air temperature sensor, and boost control valve.

20. Remove the engine harness clips.

21. Remove the engine harness clips, and remove the by-pass air pipe from the intake manifold.

22. Remove the EGR cooler securing nuts and stud bolts, and remove the gasket.

23. Remove the air breather hose clip from engine coolant pipe stay.

24. Remove the engine coolant pipe stay securing bolt.

25. Disconnect the connector from the EGR control valve.

26. Disconnect the engine coolant hose from the EGR control valve.

27. Remove the intake manifold.

28. Remove the throttle body and EGR control valve.

CAUTION:

• Do not drop or apply any impact to the throttle body or EGR control valve.

• Be careful that no water or oil gets into the connectors.

29. Remove the manifold absolute pressure and intake air temperature sensor.

30. Remove the vacuum hose, vacuum by-pass pipe and boost control valve.
