ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS)(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

DTC P2564 TURBOCHARGER BOOST CONTROL POSITION SENSOR “A” CIRCUIT LOW

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Poor acceleration

CAUTION:

After servicing or replacing faulty parts, perform Clear Memory Mode , and Inspection Mode .

WIRING DIAGRAM:

STEPCHECKYESNO

1.CHECK CURRENT DATA.

1) Start the engine.

2) From “Wastegate Valve Control” in “System Operation Check Mode”, read the data of “Turbo vanes actual angle” when the duty value is changed.

NOTE:

For detailed procedures, refer to “System Operation Check”.

Does the data of “Turbo vanes actual angle” change?

Even if DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

NOTE:

In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

2.CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND TURBO LIFT SENSOR CONNECTOR.

1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2) Disconnect the connectors from the ECM and turbo lift sensor.

3) Measure the resistance between the ECM connector and engine ground.

Connector & terminal

(B135) No. 66 — Engine ground:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

Replace the turbocharger.

Repair the short circuit to ground in the harness between the ECM connector and turbo lift sensor connector.
